THE MARQUÉS DE LA CONCORDIA WINE CELLAR
Here our wines age in 1,366 American and French oak barrels for a minimum of 18 months under the roof designed by the famous Spanish architect Peridis. If you look carefully, you’ll see an inverted ship’s hull in front of you… it’s our personal homage to Christopher Columbus’ voyage to the Americas, which in a way started here!
TEMPRANILLO VINES & SEQUOIA TREES
In 2005 we replanted three hectares of vineyard alongside Sequoia tress, which were brought here by Spanish conquistador Vázquez de Coronado in the 16th century. They are quite a sight!
MAGISTER, THE MASTER’S WINE
Magister was the highest degree to be awarded to a university student in Salamanca, and was also a requirement to become a professor in Spain’s oldest university. Additionally, Magister describes a man who gets wiser with age, until he is attributed as a Master or Magister. To us Magister is the name of our master winemaker’s best wine, made with a selection of the best grapes harvested in outstanding years from our Duero Valley vineyards. Our Super-Duero wine matures for 18 months in 20 French oak barrels, guarded by the two wise Dominican masters: Saint Thomas of Aquino and Saint Augustine.
